My top 5 ‘cool baby stuff’ for new parents

You have just found out you are expecting a baby – Congratulations!!

It can be so overwhelming when you start to look at all of the ‘must have’ items. The nappies, wipes, sterilisers, baby grows, dummies, cribs, cots, paint colours! There is just SO much choice.

Being a Mum of two little girls I have been there! Here I have compiled a list of my top 5 ‘cool baby stuff’ for new parents. I hope that it might help you to start getting your head around which gadgets are must haves and which are not!

Fisher-Price Rainforest Jumperoo

I had seen these huge Jumperoo contraptions and was determined not to have one! I did not want to give up that much of my living room for a giant noisy bouncer!

But – a friend gifted me one and not wanting to be rude I gratefully accepted!

This turned into one of the best baby gadgets we owned! It gave me the opportunity to have a sit down and hot drink while my little one bounced away! Having some baby hands free time was amazing! 100% recommend this buy!

Ergo Baby Carrier

Having a baby carrier is a must. I found the Ergo Baby carrier really comfy. It also comes with a newborn insert when your baby is still super teeny! I still carry my 3 year old on my back in the carrier. It is so versatile! 10/10 from me!

PoddlePod

I actually signed up for emails from PoddlePod as soon as I found out I was pregnant. I saw them posted online in a Mum group and thought they looked super cosy. I ordered one as soon as a 10% email code came in. And they hit the nail on the head with ‘cool baby stuff’ – the fun multicoloured extra covers are super fun!

They have also just released an XL Poddlepod for us adults too. Amazing! It is going on my Christmas list for next year!!!

I still use the PoddlePod today in the studio. It is a comfy cushion for your new baby to settle into. I use it to create beautiful photos with your baby. A few behind the scenes examples with the PoddlePod can be found here.

Baby Swaddle Wrap

My little girls LOVED being swaddled when they were small. I used to swaddle my eldest with a giant muslin. She soon learnt to wiggle her way out and never knew what to do with her hands. I discovered the baby swaddle wraps when I had my youngest daughter. They were a game changer! No more hands escaping and a really settled and content baby.

Newborn Photo Shoot

I think this is one of the most important things to get booked in when you find out you are pregnant. The gadgets are all great but they only last a short amount of time. Your new baby will grow up in a flash! Lets create some amazing memories that can last forever.

If you like my work I would love to hear from you. Please do get in touch. I now take bookings from your 12 week scan to ensure availability.
