With the autumnal weather drawing in it is time to start thinking about the best places to go Pumpkin picking with the kids! In Devon we are so lucky to be surrounded by some amazing farms. I have picked my top 5 in South Devon for 2023.
Pennywell Pumpkin Festival 2023
Where? Pennywell Farm, Buckfastleigh
Voted Devons best family attraction in 2022 and 2023 this farm offers the perfect family day out. In October they are opening their Pumpkin Festival which includes the Pumpkin Patch, a pumpkin trail, live music, a marshmallow toasting experience and loads more!
Pips Pick your Own
Where? Pips pick your Own, Kilter Farm, Yealmpton
They are open for Pumpkin picking from 1st October 2023. This year they are also offering a huge trick or treat shop. They also have a Bens Farm shop and Growers Organic Plant Centre all on site. Free parking and free picnic benches are also available for the family.
The South Devon Pumpkin Patch
Where? Terawhiti Farm, Kingsbridge
Terawhiti Farm is a small family run farm which grows fresh veg all year round. They have over 25 different varieties of pumpkin across their farm which range in sizes. They are only open for two weekends in October for pumpkin picking with the kids so they suggest arriving early to get the best choice pumpkin.
PYO Pumpkins Surfing Cow
Where? Surfing Cow, South Battisborough Farm, Holbeton
In October Half term Surfing Cow will be opening their Pumpkin Patch! They also offer really yummy ice cream and hot chocolates on site, a maize maze and picnic area for families.
The Jolly Pumpkin
Where? The Jolly Group Fields, Silverton, Exeter
They offer over 50 varieties of pumpkin and squash across their farm. They also have a dino maze and food and drink available for visitors on site.
