How I am dealing with the pandemic as a Plymouth wedding photographer

As a Plymouth wedding photographer I understand the concern that the news of Covid – 19 (coronavirus) brings to many brides. In devastation as a community we have seen unprecedented events unfolding. Every day brings huge new news not only for us as individuals but also as families, businesses and a local community.

I thought I would write a little post here to explain how I am supporting brides who have booked me as their wedding photographer.

Firstly I would like to say thank you to all of the brides who have kept me up-to-date with their wedding plans. A lot of plans have been forced to change VERY quickly. It is a stressful time for all involved so thank you for being so patient with me as I try to speak to all of my brides.

I know that a lot of you have been concerned about deposits and wedding dates changing. I am hoping this blog post will help not only my brides but also brides who may have booked other Plymouth wedding photographers.

What to do if you need change your wedding date

I know that many of you have been forced to change your wedding date in light of this pandemic. I understand how devastating it is when you think you are finally getting ahead with the wedding planning.

Let me assure you that I would still love to be your wedding photographer! If I am available on your new date I would love to still photograph your special day. Please run new dates past me so that I can ensure that I am available before confirming with your venue.

What happens to your deposit

Normally your deposit would be non-refundable and a new deposit would need to be issued for a date change.

But this could never have been foreseen. In light of this I have made a slight amendment to my policies for weddings affected during April 2020, May 2020, June 2020 and July 2020. (I will revisit this during the summer months to decide whether this policy needs extending.)

Weddings that have been forced to reschedule due to the pandemic: I will happily transfer your paid deposit to your new wedding date.

Weddings that I am unable to cover due to the date clashing with a previous booking: These deposits will be lost. I will do my utmost to fulfil any new dates given to me but I am aware that I have bookings in 2021. Sadly this means that I may be unable to fulfil all wedding commitments. Your wedding insurance will be able to cover the cost of this deposit. Please communicate with them for more details.

For all couples affected by this I will be happy to provide a complimentary engagement session. Please enquire for more details.

This is a really scary time for all of us but I am keen to stay positive. As a community we will get through this. Going forward I genuinely believe that we will come through stronger.

If you have any queries during this difficult time please give me a call! I am also available via email. I will be giving all my latest updates on my Facebook page so give me a follow if you don’t already!

If you are still looking for a Plymouth wedding photographer I am taking bookings for 2021 and 2022.
